Passing on a tradition

I went to the Viking Festival for the 2nd time this weekend. I saw this woman on the website and wanted to get a photograph of her. I got a number of head and shoulder shots, but during the day, she started to teach a young woman some sort of knitting technique. I combined two shots I took to get my preferred version. I felt this combination captured the enthusiasm of the moment.

Viking blacksmith

On an otherwise overcast day, the sun popped out while I watched this blacksmith working. I like the way the sun lit up this guys smile. It made for an unique lighting opportunity. He called this his Mickey Mouse.

Debritu in the garden

It was Norwegian National Day today, and Debritu was walking around the yard with a Norwegian flag. She took time to enjoy the garden between flag waving.
